Ladies and gentlemen, strap in for a wild ride through the swamp of Democrat hypocrisy, where the truth is as scarce as a conservative in San Francisco.
A seismic shift is underway within the Democratic Party as prominent figures distance themselves from Joe Biden, acknowledging his cognitive and physical decline after years of public defense.
The New York Times, that bastion of left-wing sanctimony, has dropped a bombshell that’s less a revelation and more a confession of complicity.
Their latest piece, “Democrats Who Championed Biden’s Re-election Bid Now Seek Atonement,” is a masterclass in revisionist history, a pathetic attempt to rewrite the narrative now that their house of cards has collapsed.
Suddenly, the same Democrats who propped up Joe Biden like it's a weekend at Bernie’s are clutching their pearls, claiming they’ve just discovered his cognitive decline, dementia, and physical frailty.
They’re “atoning” now, they say, as if they’ve been struck by divine revelation.
And the Times, as their willing stenographer, has been running interference for Biden the whole time, condemning conservatives for daring to notice the emperor had no clothes.

Let’s start with the Times’ own words – here’s how they frame this sudden Democrat “awakening”:
In February 2024, when quizzed on President Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s ability to communicate his re-election message, Senator Chris Murphy, the Connecticut Democrat, quickly vouched for him. “I know that he is ready for this campaign,” he told CBS News. “I have seen how effective he has been up close and personal.”
But five months into 2025, Mr. Murphy is on the leading edge of top Democrats aiming to 'Etch A Sketch' away their past endorsements of Mr. Biden’s acuity. He told Politico this week that he had “no doubt” Mr. Biden suffered cognitive decline while in office.
How touching. Senator Chris Murphy, who was practically writing love letters to Biden’s “acuity” last year, now says there’s “no doubt” about his cognitive decline.
Where was this clarity when Biden was stumbling over his words, forgetting world leaders’ names, or shuffling around like he needed a walker?
Murphy wasn’t alone in this charade.
The Times notes that Democrats like Representative Ro Khanna were out there stumping for Biden, claiming his speeches “broke through” the noise, only to now admit the obvious:
Representative Ro Khanna of California, another Biden advisory board member who traveled the country as a surrogate to progressives, said this week that it was “obvious now” that Mr. Biden “was not in a condition to run for re-election.” On Friday, Mr. Khanna acknowledged, “Our party made a mistake, including the dozens of us who campaigned for him for re-election.”
“Obvious now”? It was obvious to anyone with eyes and ears back in 2020 when Biden was campaigning from his basement, barely coherent.
Conservatives were shouting it from the rooftops, but the New York Times and their Democrat pals were too busy smearing the "far-right" conspiracy theorists.
Take a look at their February 9, 2024, article, “Memory Loss Requires Careful Diagnosis, Scientists Say,” where they tut-tutted Republicans for daring to question Biden’s mental state after a DOJ report called him an "elderly man with a poor memory":
Republicans were quick to pounce, some calling the president unfit for office and demanding his removal. But while the report disparaged Mr. Biden’s mental health, medical experts on Friday noted that its judgments were not based on science and that its methods bore no resemblance to those that doctors use to assess possible cognitive impairment.
When conservatives pointed out Biden’s glaring issues, the Times dismissed it as unscientific fearmongering. Now that the jig is up, they’re letting Democrats off the hook with this “atonement” nonsense.
And it’s not just the Times. In a January 17, 2025, piece, “How Biden’s Inner Circle Protected a Faltering President,” they admit the cover-up but still manage to soft-pedal it:
President Biden’s closest family members and advisers recognized his physical frailty to a greater degree than they have publicly acknowledged and worked together to manage his decline.
“Manage his decline”? That’s a polite way of saying they hid a national security crisis from the American people!
This wasn’t just frailty; it was a man who couldn’t string a sentence together, who needed his aides to guide him off stages, and who, according to X posts, had party insiders panicking behind closed doors.
NEW: @JoeBiden's brain fog was the biggest open secret in DC. According to a new book, while Biden's team was calling us conspiracy theorists -- behind the scenes, they were panicking:

But the corporate press wasn’t content to just defend Biden; they went after anyone who dared notice his decline.
"You Need to Stop Saying Joe Biden Has Dementia," the Independent warned in March 2020, scolding conservatives and even some Bernie Sanders supporters for questioning Biden’s mental health:
Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume claimed Biden was losing his memory and “getting senile.” Donald Trump, Jr claimed Biden was exhibiting signs of Alzheimer’s or dementia. … But they are not. They are ableism born out of laziness, as well as another example of our country throwing people with disabilities, both physical and mental, under the proverbial bus.
Ableism? Laziness? No, it was common sense. Conservatives weren’t “throwing people with disabilities under the bus” but merely pointing out that the leader of the free world couldn’t remember where he was half the time.

These are the same people who tried to impeach Donald Trump using the 25th Amendment, screaming he was mentally unstable, while they hid Biden’s deterioration behind a wall of sycophantic praise and media collusion. The irony is staggering.
They claimed Trump was a danger to democracy, but when Biden’s own aides were “cloistering” him to hide his condition, that was just fine, as the Times now admits:
Many Democratic officials have complained that White House aides kept Mr. Biden cloistered as his condition worsened. A book set to be released next week, “Original Sin,” details those efforts.
Let’s be real: the Democrats didn’t just make a “mistake,” as Khanna claims. They orchestrated a deliberate deception, and the New York Times was their willing accomplice, vilifying anyone who dared speak the truth.
Now they want to wash their hands of it, like Pontius Pilate, and the Times is giving them a platform to do it.
Representative Jim Himes gets the last word in their article, preaching about honesty:
Representative Jim Himes of Connecticut, one of the first lawmakers to call for Mr. Biden to step aside as the Democratic nominee after his disastrous debate performance in June 2024, said lawmakers had not fully known Mr. Biden’s mental and physical state. But, he said, Democrats must now openly admit that the former president was unfit for a second term and should not have run.
Himes wants “self-reflection”? How about an apology to the American people for gaslighting us?
How about the Times admitting they smeared conservatives for years while protecting a failing president?
The Democrat Party’s discipline in defending Biden, as the Times grudgingly admires, wasn’t about loyalty—it was about power. They wanted their fascist utopia, as the article’s closing rant suggests, and they were willing to prop up a "brain-dead" figurehead to get it.
Let’s not forget, this is the man who allegedly won more votes than any president in U.S. history—81 million, they claim—while telling voters, "If you don’t vote for me, you ain’t black," and reminiscing about kids "crawling up his leg" in one of his many unhinged rants.

Folks, this isn’t atonement; it’s a con job. The New York Times and their Democrat cronies aren’t sorry—they’re just sorry they got caught. They mocked us, they lied to us, and now they want a free pass.
