“Bring Back the Bible!” Pastor Warns U.S. Faces Collapse Without Christ

Pastor Joel Webbon shares how we should save American politics from chaos with a good dose of Christianity. Is his proposal too old-fashioned, or is it just what we need to get our country back in order?

The U.S. has long departed from God’s authority and guidance for issues such as law and morality.Maybe that's the explanation for the country's woes—and a countermeasure against cultural decay.

According to Pastor Joel Webbon, that's the case. In an interview with Elijah Schaffer, Pastor Joel Webbon shared his bold vision of bringing back Christianity and order into American political life.

Is America ready to bring back Christ into the very foundations of our nation? Webbon tells us why it’s Christ or chaos for American politics, and what to do about it.

Embrace Christ Again?

Pastor Webbon's ideas present a big and bold plan to reform America under the explicit allegiance to Christ. Back in the time of America’s origins, the 13 colonies, state churches once governed life in early settlements. Now, the U.S. Constitution restricts federal religious establishment, often summarized as ‘separation of church and state'".

How has that turned out? No need to look too far: body dysphoria, human trafficking and organ harvesting... these are just a small part of how chaotic and immoral American—and global—society is today. And unfortunately so.

During the interview, Webbon debunked this modern interpretation of “separation of church and state”. After all, it’s merely a myth applied to exclude Christ entirely from government and power. But here’s the catch: the Constitution does not actually forbid states from recognizing a religious foundation. In reality, no government remains neutral. Without Christian leadership, he argues, it’s either/or. The absence of Christ can only lead to antichrist ideologies to govern our society.

Bring Back Law and Order to America

Pastor Webbon believes we should be using the Bible to help guide our laws and punishments, through a doctrine known as “general equity theonomy.” The Old Testament divides law into moral, ceremonial, and civil categories. Moral laws, such as “do not steal” and “do not murder”, are forever eternal and have never been more relevant to today’s America. Civil laws, which guide how our society should work, should be understood by their deeper moral principles and applied with prudence in our modern society.

When these laws are disobeyed, Webbon believes that biblical punishments should be applied in ways that make sense. In the Old Testament, penalties were maximum sentences, not mandates. So, while capital punishment should only apply to murder, other offenses should be judged on a case-by-case basis.

Webbon has also said that, according to the Bible, women don’t belong in politics. Are his visions for American governance sound or too grand for today's nation? “Biblical law is not extreme,” he reaffirms, “It’s actually reasonable”.

His ideas, then, mean that America should integrate the teachings of Christ and the Bible into politics. For those looking for a Moses to guide them out of cultural destruction, beware of false prophets. For example, one wannabe Ohio governor is using vague Christian talking points to mislead voters into getting him to office.

Ultimately, Webbon shows us that Christian nationalism is not only biblical but humane. Could it be the antidote Americans need to address moral decay and social confusion?
