The COVID pandemic is hard to forget. We were hit with controls like masks and vaccines, and left to make the most out of total isolation and the utter chaos in the media. The narrative said that officials asked medical experts for their recommendations before starting a barrage of controls. But did it really happen that way?

Dr. Drew Pinsky says that no, it didn’t happen that way. Dr. Pinsky is a leading physician you may recognize from shows like Loveline, Celebrity Rehab, Teen Mom, and more.

Now, in an interview with Elijah Schaffer for Almost Serious, Dr. Drew is insisting that some experts have been silenced for telling the truth. During the clip, he talked about how, almost 5 years ago now, the mainstream media and the government abused America’s state of panic to push leftist extremism across the nation. Those who dared to think different were silenced.

The early days of the pandemic were incredibly frustrating for doctors like Dr. Drew. Alternative voices in medicine were shut down and suppressed. Legacy media and the government were in cahoots to villainize independent thinkers and “misinformation spreaders”. Medical experts were suddenly blacklisted, mocked, and cast away from public view simply for questioning mandates or proposing alternative treatments and data. So much for “free speech”, right?

"When people come after you … it stings extra bad because I'm not out there just because I want to be out there. I want to be out there to help and do something good, be of service, make make a difference in a positive way."

When did asking questions become an act of rebellion? Abusing the pandemic as an opportunity, Dr. Drew said that the government and elite media became a propaganda machine. By cracking down on doctors first, and excluding contrasting voices, the establishment moved on to manipulate public trust completely. Like he said in the interview:

"You didn't even realize at the time the way people were controlling you manipulating you or getting you not to talk about certain things. I mean, I look at my career in the past And I realized, some of the meetings that I would get in where they would check my ideology and maybe make sure I didn't think a certain way."

This is aligned with a larger agenda to impose ideological extremism on anyone who shows any kind of dissent to the “official” authority. See the case of Lisa Domski, who was fired for refusing the COVID shots because of her Catholic faith (actually, the joke’s on them: Domski sued them and won $12 million). When the press becomes a tool for propaganda, it no longer serves democracy.

5 years later, the consequences still endure. Even now, Dr. Drew no longer trusts the media, the government, or even the medical system. For example, the Journal of Clinical Trials revealed that mortality rates skyrocketed among the COVID vaccinated. Could this have been avoided if voices like Dr. Drew’s were heard from the start? That’s why conservatives across the country continue to call for investigations into pandemic-era policies and media censorship, and Dr. Drew is not one to remain idle. 

He has an antidote for all this leftist extremism and disappointment. He’s calling for a cultural reset—one rooted in humility, accountability, media reform, and open dialogue:

And that's why you're seeing Democrats are teaming up with Republicans. Past liberals are teaming up with conservatives. There's like a group of people here are like, "Hey, this is beyond party. This is actually in terms of 'am I going to have the right to move freely, speak freely, and think freely in my country?'"

He emphasizes that Americans need to resist the herd mentality, and instead return to a place where facts and dialogue guide decisions. Dr. Drew’s antidote is simple but bold: speak the truth, reject the narrative, and talk openly among each other.
