Oh, look, another politician with a soapbox and a skeleton-filled closet.
Democratic Rep. Shri Thanedar of Michigan is waving impeachment articles at President Trump like a matador taunting a bull. But it turns out his own history is a circus of scandal.
The Democrat lawmaker, evidently, has a penchant for torturing animals.
Animal cruelty allegations tied to a bankrupt lab that Thanedar owned have resurfaced, and the details are grim enough to make your skin crawl.
As Rift TV reported, Thanedar filed seven articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Monday.
Thanedar claimed Trump should be removed from office for deporting suspected MS-13 gang member Kilmar Barego Garcia, Department of Government Efficiency cuts without congressional approval, and Trump’s tariffs as impeachable offenses.
“Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as President and represents a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitution and our democracy,” Thanedar said in a press release.
However, Thanedar’s push is overshadowed by resurfaced allegations of animal cruelty linked to his past ownership of AniClin Preclinical Services, a New Jersey animal testing lab.
According to a 2018 Huffington Post report, 118 beagles and dozens of long-tailed macaque monkeys were rescued in 2010 from the facility, which Thanedar shuttered after its parent company, Azopharma, went bankrupt in April 2010.
Three months later, local animal rights activists discovered the animals still inside, caged in "small plexiglass crates" where they were subject to toxicology tests.
Lab workers would reportedly sneak into the facility to provide the animals with food and water.
"We believe that they have never been outside, ever," an unnamed source told the Times Herald-Record. "I don’t think they’ve actually had their paws on the grass. When I walked in here, it looked like they were walking on eggshells. They were kind of afraid to walk on the grass."

A 2009 USDA inspection report detailed violations at AniClin, contradicting Thanedar’s claims that the lab always followed federal guidelines.
The report cited "deficiencies" in monkey enclosures, which were too small and faced a wall, preventing social interaction critical for their "psychological well-being."
"There were six individually-housed nonhuman primates in room 6B, whose enclosures were facing the wall and [the primates] could not see other nonhuman primates," the report states.
Missing mirrors, previously installed for visibility, were not replaced, and two monkeys suffered from stress-related hair loss.
The report also flagged expired animal medications, facility “disrepair,” and a damaged door fostering “a living/breeding ground for rodents and pests.”
Thanedar fought to sell the abandoned animals to other labs rather than secure sanctuary placements, defying a court-appointed receiver’s orders then took to the press to defend the torture.
"Nearly 10 years ago, when I owned several medical research companies… we consistently maintained valid certifications from multiple agencies," he told HuffPost in 2018. "Most inspections resulted in no citation and in the few instances where an issue was raised, it was immediately rectified.”
So, Shri Thanedar wants to play constitutional crusader while his past reeks of neglected beagles and stressed-out monkeys.
Adding to Thanedar’s troubles, Federal Election Commission records reveal that his campaign, “Shri for Congress,” is drowning in significant financial debt.
As of the latest filing, the campaign reported a deficit of $730,313.81.
The debt includes a notable negative payment of $1,208,286.58 recorded on February 28, attributed to “INVESTMENT INCOME LOSS,” with Thanedar himself listed as the recipient of this negative payment.
Reporter Charles Down with Loomer Unleashed confronted Thanedar Monday about his history of fraud and scams as the India-born lawmaker scurried away.

If Thanedar is going to throw impeachment stones, he might want to sweep up the paw prints in his own backyard first.
